Development of Hteedan Wharves took place in October 2010 by Shwe Nar Wah Company Limited. Shwe Nar Wah Company Limited entrusted AWPM with the management and operations of Hteedan Wharves. Both Asia World Port Management and Shwe Nar Wah Company Limited are subsidiary companies of Asia World Co.,Ltd. The project was developed on BOT basis as permitted by the Myanmar Investment Commission, under the Myanmar Citizens Investment Law. The project development was divided into two phases.

Sule Pagoda Wharves (SPW) is the only one public port under the management of Myanmar Port Authority and the largest terminal in Yangon Inner Harbour Area. 7 berths with a total combined length of 1040m and handles mainly general cargoes. SPW has 36,800 square meters of yards and 67500sq,m of sheds. SPW contributes more than 35% of general cargoes handling statement of Yangon Port.
